Vision is a non-for-profit organisation committed to young people aged 11-18. Driven by Christian values of hope, faith, love,
compassion, and creativity, Vision is run by a team of young adults who work as full-time volunteers with a real passion to
see teenagers reach their potential.
Since 2002 we’ve run almost 30 free concerts in 8 different venues. These are designed to be a safe place where teenagers
can socialise while enjoying high quality DJs, MCs, and live bands. Our largest concerts are held at Marl Pits Sports Complex,
attracting up to 2,000 young people each time. Teenagers have always taken an active role in the planning and delivery of
our events: this year’s open-air concert will feature around 30 performers aged 13-25!
Vision runs a Schools Week in up to six secondary schools every year in September. The week consists of interactive
workshops in art, dance, drama, music, and sport, as well as thought-provoking RE lessons, assemblies, and concerts.
Vision holds several creative arts training days each year called ‘Inspire’. During the day young people can choose from
a variety of workshops including art, dance, drama, music, sport, and public speaking which are run by qualified or
experienced young adults. These are designed to be non-competitive, encouraging days which inspire young people to
reach their potential. The day finishes with a showcase where the young people can perform or show what they’ve
worked on to friends or family.
Youth Alpha is a 10-week introduction to Christianity based on the internationally renowned ‘Alpha Course’. It’s a safe,
friendly environment with plenty of food, games, and opportunities to ask questions, and is often the highlight of the week
for many young people who attend. Vision runs Youth and Student Alpha courses from September to December.
THE ENGAGE CAFE runs on Thursday nights on the Hall Carr Estate in Rawtenstall and is open to all young people in the
surrounding area who want to drop in for a chat, play games, or just hang out with their friends.
REFRESH is a church service with a difference! It’s open to anyone, of any age, whether you go to church on Sunday
morning or not. Refresh is held every Sunday, 7:30-9:30pm at St Paul’s Church Constable Lee.
Vision’s aim is to help build a more positive youth culture in Rossendale; our work is supported by over 25 local Christian
churches and has been highly commended by secondary schools and the local Police and Council.
